(SINGAPORE, 13th October) -- We are pleased to announce the appointment of Olympic Coach Aoki Yusuke of Team Japan to our Expert Advisor Panel.
Coach Aoki Receiving Z's "The Best Inspire" Award on behalf of TEAM JAPAN in recognition of their Olympic and International Success
Coach Aoki joins a distinguished elite Advisory Panel from Europe, Americas and Asia that is being formed to help Z further develop it's current 5-level curriculum and turn it's Elite Fencers Academy programme into a world-class international training system - to realise its Olympic Dream goal of nurturing Olympic champions.
Supported and encouraged by the Japan Fencing Federation, Coach Aoki joins this international collaboration with Z Fencing to share Team Japan's successful insights and practices. His experience of working with both youth and senior teams at the elite levels will be immensely insightful to develop a progressive developmental curriculum.
"Through a series of masterclasses, training camps and collaborations with the Expert Advisors, we aim to grow our curriculum and elite academy into a world-class progamme," says T.K. Wong, co-founder and director of the Z Elite Fencers Academy, "and hopefully in return make a contribution to professionalise and internationalise our growing global fencing movement through these collaborations."
Coach Aoki was the Assistant Coach when TEAM JAPAN Men's Foil won a Silver medal at the London Olympics 2012, together with Head Coach Oleg Matseychuk.
His student Saito Toshiya won Bronze at both the World Cadet Champs 2013 and the World Junior Men's Foil Champs 2014. As Head Director for TEAM JAPAN at the Youth Olympic Games Nanjing 2014, his charges won both a Gold in the Mixed Team event, and a Siver in the Women's Foil Individual event. His fencers have also enjoyed podium success at the Asian Junior and Cadet Champs, the USA National Champs (Team Gold - 2013), and the European Cadet Circuit Champs.
Coach Aoki is presently the Manager for the Japan Olympic Council JISS Elite Fencers Academy, and Head Coach of the National Cadet and Junior Men's Foil Team.
"I am very honoured to join the Z Expert Advisors Panel and look forward to collaborating with Z Fencing and its coaches over the next year to contribute towards an international world-class fencing curriculum and training system," states Coach Aoki.
A highlight of the collaboration will be an intercontinental training camp between the expert advisors and their fencers for the international exchange of friendship and fencing knowledge. Stay tuned for more on this!
